How to check word count on google docs

Google docs is one of the best online word processing and word editing tool that is used by millions of people world wide. Google Docs is from google, obviously. There is so much you can do with this tool. Like mentioned above, you can use google docs to edit documents as it is with Microsoft word. Your documents are automatically saved in your google drive. With a free personal account you have 15 GB of space. With documents alone, this is a tone of space and it will take you a while to fill it up.

But say you run out of space and you do not wish to start paying USD 12 a month for a business account. Here is the trick, create a new account, you will get about free 15 GB for free. While many people use google docs it is shocking how many can not clearly navigate google docs tools and usability. One of the most important and useful tool that most people do not know how to use is the word count functionality.

Say you just finished writing your document and you would like to check your word count in the document you just wrote. With google docs this has never been easier. It is simple and you will never forget it once you know how to do it once, i promise. Here is how you do it.

To check work count in google docs, Open your goole docs and have your documents written with words (otherwise what are you going to count?). Then, find the menu bar usually located at the top of the document. If the menu bar can not be located try to click at the square icon on the right corner. once you find the menu bar, then click on Tools to open a drop down menu.

Hover over to word count option. Once you hover over to word count you will get another menu with two options: (word count) and (Show document outline). Click on word count

If you did everything right, you will get a small pop up kinda of box, this will have data about your document regarding word counts, the number of pages your document has, the number of characters. The beauty with word count is google docs is that the word counts will continue to update automatically as you type in new words. How cool is that?
